Just came back from the tiring captain's ball competition. We were just so close to the trophy, we ended up at the 4th position. I think it was really fun today, you just got to see the teamwork in our class. Just like what Jeremy said, we were like people from different places all put together into one team. We were unsure of each others' strength or weakness but we still had quite a good teamwork. At first we thought of just play for fun because the points we get are the same but maria wanted to win, she wanted to win it all we can. When we had our first match, it was quite a tough one, the opponent led us by 1 point at first half. I think the first half was just a warm-up and for each of us to familiarise each others' playing style. At the second half, we substitued dev for maria, maria was really good, she dont look like she dont have any ball sense. Jeremy and jiashi's partnership was really good, maria was assisting them, Jeremy was quite a good playmaker, he created a lot of chances for the other members to score.
Thanks Aaron for cheering for us, in return my class cheered for aaron's class too. Unfortunately, the lost the game but we also lost to the same opponent. They got a superior advantage over all the teams, the members were freak tall and had super great reflexes. Our fast tactics did not work out because they found out our attacking style. The last match was really a disappointing one, we were leading 4-0 but ended up losing 6-10. I did not defend really well in that game, giving them space to attack and the captain's hands were freak long. Our playing style was really fast pace, but it was seen by the referee as though we were running with the ball, it was just that our 1-2 was too swift. Actually the last match, I think the referee should had his own stand, he was not decisive at all. Jeremy twisted his ankle while playing, he really brought out his best, two words to say his partnership with jiashi, swift and precise.
Overall, I guessed we really tried our best, of course we were all disappointed because we could have easily won 3rd. No one likes the taste of defeat, but a memorable lesson to learn from.
I am like super tired now but have to go for the dunman anniversary dinner later. I had decided to go because aaron managed to get the tickets for half price, wonder how he did that, but hope later will be a great dinner. Lastly, I forget to wish ralph happy birthday yesterday, sorry ralph, I hope it is still not too late. I shall not be like maine that post your that photo, maine is just so mean. HAHA
