Today was really a very great day for me. I went to tried on ice-skating at Jurong. At first we were so excited and I was pretty nervous because it was my first time. So we went up to the third storey with our excited faces. But unfortunately, when we went up, we could not skate. The place is used for a skating championship. We have to wait till 4.30pm in order to play. But the time was 2.30pm. We still got two hours of time to spare.
We went to explore the shopping centre for something to do. We wanted to play pool but we were underaged. Then I saw a advertisment pasted on the wall, I called my friends to have a look. It was a advertisment of a lan shop, one hour $2. Since there was so much time to spare, we decided to play lan. The shop was found deep inside k-box. We have a shot on a 3 v 5 dota game. I was in the group of only three people.
We played two games of dota. Both were exciting. Suddenly, I level up very fast, I was level 12 when the rest are still at about 8 - 10. It was a very nice game. At least we pass time doing "useful" stuff. At 4.30pm, we went in for ice-skating. All of them left me alone because I did not know how to skate. I told myself that I must learn how to skate, I must not be a loser. So at first, I hold on to the railings and glided on the ice slowing. Then I tried to let go of the railing. For the first few trials, I fell, but not very harshly.
When I fell, I told myself that I must get up and I must learn to ice-skating, so I keep on trying and trying. Many of them offer me help, but I rejected because I want to depend on myself, I wanna be independent and I should not rely on my friends to much. So finally, I learned how to skate and I moved to the centre of the field, but I could not skate at very high speed, only average.
I was very delighted today. After I learned how to ice-skate, I saw feli and sarah coming towards me, they asked me if I wanna skate with them, so I agreed but I did not dare to hold on to feli's hand at first so I went to hold on sarah's instead, so we skated together for a round and we saw some of them in the centre and feli asked sarah to join them and asked me to continue to skate with her. I was about to reject feli but her hand just held on to my hand before I can say anything, so I was too shy to reject her and so both of us went to skate around. When skating beside her, I felt so free and I suddenly had no difficulty in skating and holding on her hand to skate together is actually quite a sweet thing..haha...maybe I am being too lame lah.
But overall, today was a very very great day for me, not because I held feli's hand but today I really understands what is call a sense of achievement. I understand that no matter in wad I do, as long as I dont give up and keep on trying, there will be a time to succeed. Today is really a meanful day for me.
