Today I went to watch a movie that really touches me. I wanted to share with everyone about the movie. It is a quite a popular film during this Lunar New Year. I guess that all of you know wad movie I am talking about. It is the famous "I Not Stupid Too". I think that it is a very excellent film. It is better than the previous film. This movie is suitable for everyone to watch, especially for parents and teenagers. There are a lot of issues reflected in this movie.
Before the film begins, the were three sentences shown on the screen. The first one is for the parents, "When was the last time you praised someone?". The second sentence is for the children, "When was the last time you were being praised?". The last sentence was, "Very long, right?". These three sentences are the main focus of the movie and also wad the movie is going to show. Prasing, may be a very big word for some people, and also may be just a word containing 7 letters. Is praise really important? Some parents may think that their child has nothing to praise about, but actually, PRAISE is very very important.
There story about 3 boys, Tom, Jerry and Cheng Cai. Tom and Jerry were brothers, Tom is the elder one. Firstly, Jerry narrated the beginning. Jerry is not a stupid child, he always got Band one in all the subjects, but his mother did not praise him but tell him that it is still not enough. Although the child did well, the parents are still unhappy and wanted them to achieve more. Tom and Chang Cai is in a Normal Tech. stream, they are always being looked down by his teacher. The teacher will always call the Normal Tech. students "rotten apple", but I think that the teacher is wrong. Everyone is equal, we should not treat everyone differently, they are still students. For example, even though an apple is rotten, you can cut away the rotten part and you can still eat it instead of throwing the whole apple away. Same applies to the students, dun keep looking at the bad points, you should look more in their good points than their bad points.
I will first touch on the issues about the teacher in the movie. The teacher in the movie is a chinese teacher and teaches chinese. The students dun seems to tlisten to him as the teacher explains in his own way. The teacher did not think about the students ability to catch up. Then all the students did not finish their work and were sent out of the classroom. They looked at the class opposite to them. The teacher in the other class was a good role model. I remembered wad he said in the movie. He said that nowadays, it is difficult to commmunicate with the students. You need a "key" to open the gate and reach out for them. When a student gets 12 marks out of 100 for a test, you as a teacher should not scold them. You should encourage them. For example, you should tell the student that "well done, you improve by two marks. Although it is a small achievement, if you work harder, you can improve by 5 marks or even more". When a student hear this, at least he or she will try to do well and not to disappoint the teacher. Whereas if you scold the student, he or she will hate the subject even more and the results will decrease and decrease.
Now about parents. The is a phrase in chinese, "There is no child who cant learn, but there are parents who cant teach". As parents, you should care for your children. Some parents are just too occupied by work and did not have time for their children. This will cause a gap between the children and the parents. In the movie, Jerry's father earns a lot of money and people will have to pay him $500 to talk to him for an hour. Jerry wanted to tell his father to go and watch his play, but he hardly see his father due to his father being busy with work. One day, Jerry's parents were called by the pricipal to look at a tape, the tape has got Jerry stealing money from a canteen stall. The father went back home a started scolding Jerry, he did not gave Jerry a chance to speak. He thought that Jerry steal money because he wanted to buy Pokemon cards. He was being canned by his parents. Then he told his father that, he wanted to talk to him. He wanted to save money but he need more than 300 days to save $500 and by that time, the play has already finished. So he sell his Pokemon cards, but still he did not have enough money, so he results to stealing. He steal because he wanted to have $500 so that he can talk to his father for 1 hour and tell his father to go and watch his play. From this, you can see that how parents can affect a child to step on the wrong path.
Parents should spend more time with their children. Do not always cane them or beat them. Have a nice face-to-face talk with each other, understand each other well. There are many issues in the movie and is very hard for me to have it all in my entry so I recommend everyone to watch this movie. There may be some funny moments, but there are many sad happenings in the movie. You may have to drop some tears when watching.
