Yesterday I typed that my that NPCC chairman got us out of the room and we did not plan anything for the campcraft competition. Today, they all call us back at 9am, for campcraft training. I expect to sleep for the whole of today, but this campcraft training forbid me to.
Then I went tot he field to began the training. They called me to pitch a flag pole, which I dun even know. Then they teach us about how to pitch and we at least know the basic steps. First there are two big and long spares, one is rather thin and another is thicker. Then tie the two spares together. One round lashing at the ends, in the centre, there must have three clove hitch. The three clove hitch must be tied with the longer ropes, while the round lashings must be tied with the shorter ones.
Then you need to peg the pegs into the ground 8 foots away from the base of the pole, there will be three pegs and the distance between each peg is about 60 degrees. Then three people, each holding one long rope, will pull as hard as the can. The flag pole will stand up, each person will pull as hard as they can and will tie a tent's guy loop on the peg.
There will be a nylon string and it will be attached to the top of the pole. The string is long and is supposed to tied to the two sides of the flag and the flag will be rised up to the top of the pole. Today, I pitched a flag pole 3 times and my fastest record is 8 minutes.
